Change is the only constant in life. [Heraclitus]
Never has that quote felt more true for me. In Ontario, we hear every week from our provincial Premier, Doug Ford, about changes related to Covid-19. We are wondering what the changes will mean for our workplaces and for ourselves. Many people are embracing the opportunity to make changes. Others are devastated by the constantly shifting sand. And many, in the middle, are coping on a daily basis.
How can leaders support everyone, including themselves, and build trust – – even though today’s situation could be different tomorrow? We know that keeping in touch on an individual and team basis is important. When you have one-on-one conversations, what do you ask? Here are three questions that are proving useful to my clients:
- How are you coping?
- What do you need from me?
- What have you learned through this experience?
Don’t be surprised at any answer. Listening, hearing and acknowledging are powerful, trust-building skills.
Building a Character Community: Complimentary Webinars
What I have learned by facilitating complimentary webinars for clients, is that many of you are committed to building good character in your organizations and with your teams. The webinars are a platform for best practices, relevant research, candid conversations and support. In that light, I plan to continue offering these webinars and will limit participation to 10 people, for discussion purposes. For the time being there are two scheduled webinars per month. Upcoming dates are: July 22, August 6, and August 19. Please contact info@centreforcharacterleadership.com if you would like to join the conversation.
Interactive Online Learning Programs (see below)
